A 40-year-old Mount Joy man is in police custody after allegedly shooting a 66-year-old Villa resident on Monday evening, according to Antigua.news.
The suspect walked into the Parham Police Station at approximately 6:45 p.m. on July 13 and informed officers that he had been involved in a shooting. Police immediately took him into custody and seized a firearm believed to be connected to the incident.
The victim was rushed to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre after sustaining a gunshot wound to the right side of his chest. He remains hospitalised in stable condition and is continuing to receive treatment.
Authorities have not released details regarding the circumstances that led to the shooting. Investigators are continuing to piece together the events surrounding the incident, and the Mount Joy man is being held on suspicion of Shooting with Intent.
