Heavy-duty truck drivers employed by the Ministry of Works have returned to their duties after briefly blocking access to the ministry's Denry Lane compound Tuesday morning in protest over outstanding payments.

The industrial action ended following a meeting between workers and ministry management. The ministry said it had addressed the employees' concerns and assured them that the issues raised were already being actively dealt with.

Government vehicles were used to block the entrance to the compound during the protest, temporarily disrupting normal operations. Access was restored after the talks concluded.

The Ministry of Works thanked workers for their commitment and reaffirmed its support for staff as it continues its infrastructure development programme across Antigua and Barbuda.
