A Jamaican national reportedly wanted for murder in his home country has been detained by Antiguan authorities following a targeted operation in Liberta on Thursday morning.
According to Antigua.news, officers including members of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Task Force carried out the operation that led to the man's arrest.
The suspect, who is said to reside in Cedar Valley, was found occupying a motor van when police moved in. Officers searched the vehicle in his presence and seized several electronic items believed to be connected to the ongoing investigation.
The motor van was subsequently taken to Police Headquarters for safekeeping. The suspect was transported to the St. John's Police Station, along with the seized items.
Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the suspect, nor have they provided further details regarding the murder allegation in Jamaica. Investigations remain ongoing.
