A Jamaican national reportedly wanted for murder in his home country has been detained by Antiguan authorities following a targeted police operation in Liberta.

According to Antigua News Room, officers from the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda, assisted by members of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Task Force, carried out the operation on Thursday morning, locating and arresting the suspect at the scene.

Sources indicate the man resides in the Cedar Valley community.

During the operation, officers searched a motor van occupied by the suspect in his presence, seizing several electronic devices as part of the ongoing investigation. The vehicle was subsequently transported to Police Headquarters for safekeeping.

The suspect was taken to the St. John's Police Station, along with the seized items, where the matter remains under active investigation.
