The CHOGM National Security Planning Committee is calling on the public to continue supporting Exercise STRONGHOLD as the next phase of the national security drill is set to take place this Friday.
According to Antigua News Room, officials reported the successful completion of the exercise's first phase on Wednesday, during which security forces and key agencies conducted operations in the vicinity of the Antigua and Barbuda National Performing Arts Centre.
The committee extended thanks to residents and motorists for their patience and cooperation during that phase, noting that public support played a significant role in its smooth execution.
Focus now turns to the third phase of Exercise STRONGHOLD, scheduled for Friday, July 10, running from 6 a.m. to 12 noon.
Officials are reminding the public to follow all instructions issued by police officers and other authorized personnel, and to refrain from entering designated security zones without proper authorization.
Exercise STRONGHOLD is part of Antigua and Barbuda's broader preparations for hosting the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting later this year. The exercise is designed to test the nation's security readiness, emergency response capabilities, and inter-agency coordination ahead of the high-profile international event.
