The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda has announced the successful completion of the first day of a major security simulation exercise in preparation for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2026.
According to Antigua News Room, all security barricades deployed during Wednesday's operations have since been removed, with normal access fully restored across affected areas. Businesses, government offices, and members of the public have been cleared to resume their regular schedules.
The operation forms part of the three-day Exercise STRONGHOLD, which runs through July 10. The exercise is designed to test the nation's security readiness, emergency response capabilities, and inter-agency coordination ahead of Antigua and Barbuda's hosting of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting later this year.
