The Antigua and Barbuda Civil Registry has announced temporary changes to its operating hours this week to accommodate security lockdown exercises being conducted ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), according to Antigua News Room.
Based on a public notice dated July 7, the registry will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon on Wednesday, July 8. Members of the public must access the facility through the back gate on St. Mary's Street before noon, entering through the main entrance as usual. After 12 noon, access will resume through the High Street entrance.
The Civil Registry will also be closed on Friday, July 10, and will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, July 13.
The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda is conducting the lockdown exercises as part of security preparations for CHOGM, which Antigua and Barbuda will host in November. The temporary arrangements are being implemented to accommodate those drills.
The Civil Registry apologised for any inconvenience caused and encouraged members of the public to contact the office at 562-9687/88 for additional information.
