Simple lifestyle habits may help delay the onset of Alzheimer's disease, even among high-risk patients, according to Mayo Clinic neurologist Dr. Ronald Peterson.
As reported by Antigua Observer, Dr. Peterson shared his insights during an appearance on Observer AM on Thursday, offering guidance on both prevention strategies and widely circulated home remedies.
Dr. Peterson indicated that adopting healthy lifestyle changes can make a meaningful difference in reducing or postponing the effects of Alzheimer's disease, even for individuals with a higher genetic or medical predisposition to the condition.
The neurologist also addressed a popular belief surrounding coconut oil as a potential remedy for Alzheimer's. He dismissed the claim, stating that there is no solid scientific evidence to support the use of coconut oil as an effective treatment or preventative measure against the disease.
