Prime Minister Gaston Browne has issued a public warning about a fraudulent online advertisement that uses his image and voice without authorisation to promote what he has described as a financial scam.

According to Antigua News Room, Browne flagged the deceptive content in a Facebook post on Saturday, writing: "Careful with them Stinking Dutty Thieves around the place. This is fake."

The advertisement in question is a video that falsely portrays the Prime Minister as endorsing a financial investment platform. The video claims investors can earn up to EC$8,100 per week from an initial outlay of just EC$675.

The scam goes further, as reported by Antigua News Room. The video falsely attributes statements to Browne, including a personal promise to refund any investor who fails to earn the advertised returns. It also claims the platform employs artificial intelligence to generate guaranteed profits — a hallmark of fraudulent investment schemes. Viewers are urged to submit their contact information through a website to secure a position on the platform.

Browne made clear that the advertisement is entirely fraudulent and called on members of the public to disregard it.

Residents are reminded to verify all investment opportunities through official channels and to exercise caution when encountering online advertisements that promise unusually high or guaranteed financial returns.
