A young West Indies Academy cricketer has been fined after pleading guilty to assaulting a taxi driver at an Antigua resort, according to Antigua Observer.

Barbadian batsman Shaqkere Parris, 22, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel on Thursday alongside his attorney, Arthur Thomas Jr., and entered a guilty plea to a single charge of battery.

As reported by Antigua Observer, the incident took place at a local resort, with Parris admitting his role in the altercation. The court proceedings concluded with the imposition of a fine against the young cricketer.
