The government's 2026 Immigration Amnesty Programme officially opened yesterday, offering undocumented residents an opportunity to regularise their status before a September deadline. According to Antigua Observer, this marks the first such programme since March 2022.
Immigration Minister E.P. Chet Greene announced the initiative, which was introduced under the Immigration and Passport (Amendment) Act, 2026. The programme targets individuals who have lived in Antigua and Barbuda for four years or more.
The amnesty window gives qualifying undocumented residents a defined period to come forward and begin the process of formalising their immigration status before the September deadline.
