Minister of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs Hon. Michael Joseph has congratulated Antigua and Barbuda Emergency Medical Services (ABEMS) Critical Care Paramedic Brandon Browne on earning a Master of Science in Acute Medicine from the University of South Wales.

Browne, who also serves as an Instructor with the ABEMS Academy, has worked with the national emergency medical service with distinction for several years. He has built a reputation for clinical excellence, professional development, and a sustained commitment to advancing emergency medical care in Antigua and Barbuda.

Minister Joseph, a pharmacist by profession, commended Browne for pursuing advanced education while continuing to serve on the front lines of healthcare.

"Brandon's accomplishment is one that deserves to be celebrated. It is encouraging to see young professionals investing in their education and continuously striving for excellence in their chosen fields. His achievement not only represents personal success but also strengthens the quality of healthcare services available to the people of Antigua and Barbuda," Minister Joseph said.

The Minister, who described himself as one of the country's younger ministers, added that he finds particular inspiration in young professionals who invest in their personal and professional growth.

"I want to encourage Brandon to continue building on this remarkable achievement and to remain committed to lifelong learning. Our nation benefits immensely when healthcare professionals continue to expand their knowledge and expertise. I hope his success serves as an inspiration to other young people to pursue higher education and never stop striving for excellence," he added.

Browne said the programme has directly strengthened his capacity to perform in high-pressure clinical environments and positions him to bring valuable knowledge back to Antigua and Barbuda's emergency medical system.

"Completing this Master's programme has broadened my understanding of acute medicine and evidence-based emergency care. It has enhanced my clinical decision-making and equipped me with advanced knowledge that will ultimately benefit the patients we serve. As a Critical Care Paramedic and trainer with the ABEMS Academy, I now have an even greater opportunity to share current best practices with our personnel, helping to build an even stronger Emergency Medical Service for Antigua and Barbuda," Browne said.

The Ministry of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs joined the management and staff of ABEMS in congratulating Browne on the achievement and in wishing him continued success as he advances his career and contributes to the development of emergency medical services in the country.
