Two men from Grays Farm are receiving treatment at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre following a shooting in the community on Tuesday evening.
One of the victims sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and is reported to be in critical condition. The second victim was shot in the legs and is also undergoing medical treatment. Both men were being prepared for surgery as family members and friends gathered at the hospital.
Residents reported hearing several gunshots ring out through the community approximately an hour and a half before the victims were transported to the hospital. The full circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident but had not released an official statement at the time of publication.
