Crime reports in Antigua and Barbuda fell by 158 cases during the first five months of this year compared to the same period in 2024, according to Antigua Observer, which cited figures released by a senior police official.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Lisborn Michael revealed the decline during an interview with Observer Radio on Monday. According to Antigua Observer, a total of 1,215 crimes were recorded between January and May of this year.

The figures represent a notable year-on-year reduction and suggest a downward trend in criminal activity across the twin-island nation during the period under review.

Assistant Commissioner Michael's public disclosure of the statistics signals an effort by the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda to maintain transparency with the public regarding crime trends.
