Senator Tiffany Strann-Peters has returned to Antigua and Barbuda with fresh perspectives on global issues after completing a two-week leadership seminar in the People's Republic of China.
Strann-Peters participated in the Seminar on Young Leaders under the Global Development Initiative, joining 29 young leaders from around the world. She described the experience as one she will "always cherish."
"For fourteen days, I had the privilege of joining 29 young leaders from across the world," she wrote in a social media post. "Every conversation, every cultural exchange and every session offered a new perspective."
Discussions during the seminar spanned a broad range of contemporary topics, including the changing global economy and the impact of artificial intelligence. The senator said she returned home with fresh ideas and a greater appreciation for international collaboration.
Strann-Peters expressed gratitude to the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Commerce and the University of International Business and Economics for making the opportunity possible.
She also highlighted the role of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, whose support allowed the delegation to promote the country's tourism product and culture on the international stage.
"We were able to showcase our beautiful twin-island nation and remind others that, while we may be small, our culture and spirit leave a lasting impression," she wrote.
The senator noted that sharing the experience alongside fellow Antiguan delegates made the trip especially meaningful. "We represented our country with pride," Strann-Peters said.
