The Senate of Antigua and Barbuda is now fully constituted following the swearing-in of Barbuda Council representative Fabian Jones. According to Antigua Observer, Jones was sworn in yesterday as the final senator to be appointed in the wake of the April 30th general election, completing the full 17-member Upper House.
Jones' appointment marks his third term in the Senate, having previously served in the Upper House on two prior occasions. His return to the chamber as the Barbuda Council's representative ensures that Barbuda retains its voice at the national legislative level.
With Jones now in place, the Senate reaches its full complement, allowing the Upper House to function with its entire membership as the new parliamentary term gets underway.
