Two teenage males were wounded in a shooting on South Street on Saturday night, and the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda has launched an investigation into the incident.

At approximately 9:10 p.m. on June 27, officers responded to reports of gunfire in the vicinity of a tattoo shop on South Street. Preliminary investigations indicate that the two teenagers were standing along the roadway when they observed two unknown males walking along Goodwin Street.

The suspects were reportedly dressed in dark clothing, with hooded tops covering their faces. One of the suspects allegedly fired several shots toward the teenagers before both fled the scene on foot.

A 16-year-old resident of South Street and a 17-year-old resident of Villa were transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre for treatment. Medical personnel confirmed that the injuries sustained by both victims are not life-threatening. The two teenagers remain under observation as they receive further medical attention.
