Jamaicans living in Antigua and Barbuda are being urged to move quickly and take advantage of the government's Amnesty Programme for non-nationals, with document services firm Caridocs warning that last-minute applications risk derailing the regularisation process.
Nevoy Morrison, Principal Consultant of Caridocs, described the amnesty as a rare and significant opportunity for eligible residents to secure their immigration status. "This opportunity only comes once every five years and provides eligible individuals with the chance to become regularised, giving them greater security and peace of mind. I strongly encourage every Jamaican who qualifies not to wait until the last minute to begin the process," Morrison said.
To assist applicants, Caridocs is offering support in obtaining several key documents required for the amnesty application, including Jamaican police records, birth certificates, and apostilles for both documents.
The company has also introduced a flexible payment plan designed to reduce the financial burden on applicants. Clients are required to pay 70 per cent of the total cost upfront to initiate the application, with the remaining 30 per cent due once the completed documents are delivered to Antigua and Barbuda.
Morrison cautioned that applicants should begin gathering their documents immediately, as processing and delivery can take up to 15 working days.
Caridocs has temporarily suspended its passport application service due to increased complexities in the passport application process, but the company confirmed it remains available to offer guidance and general information on passport-related requirements.
"Our mission is to make the document procurement process as smooth, professional, and accessible as possible. We understand the importance of this amnesty programme and are committed to helping Jamaicans obtain the documents they need in a timely manner. We encourage everyone who intends to apply to begin gathering their required documents now rather than waiting until the deadline approaches," Morrison added.
The Government of Antigua and Barbuda's Amnesty Programme offers eligible non-nationals a pathway to regularise their immigration status. Officials have urged applicants to submit the required documentation before the programme closes.
