A man died Tuesday afternoon after suffering an apparent medical emergency shortly after arriving at V.C. Bird International Airport on a regional flight, according to Antigua News Room.

The passenger collapsed around 2 p.m. shortly after disembarking the aircraft.

Firefighters from the Coolidge Fire Station responded immediately, administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation until Emergency Medical Services personnel arrived. EMS then transported the man to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre.

Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the medical facility.

Authorities have not yet released the man's age or nationality. A post-mortem examination is expected to determine the exact cause of death. Police investigations remain ongoing.
