A man is recovering at home after being brutally assaulted and robbed in the early hours of Saturday morning at the West Bus Station, according to Antigua News Room.
A relative of the victim reported that the attack occurred sometime after midnight, carried out by unknown assailants who stole all of his belongings — including his pants and shoes — before leaving him unconscious and clothed only in his underwear.
The victim sustained head injuries and remained lying at the bus station until a passerby discovered him and alerted emergency services. An ambulance transported him to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where he regained consciousness, received medical treatment, and was subsequently discharged.
The victim was reportedly unable to identify his attackers, and no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
The assault has reignited concerns about violent crime and public safety in the area. Relatives of the victim expressed alarm, noting that the attack could easily have ended in tragedy. Police are expected to investigate the matter.
