The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda is investigating the death of a 19-year-old woman whose body was recovered from the waters at Devil's Bridge on Sunday, June 22.
Preliminary reports indicate the young woman allegedly jumped from Devil's Bridge into the sea late Saturday night. Police officers and members of the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force Coast Guard responded to the report, launching an extensive search operation on both land and sea.
Due to challenging conditions and other operational factors, the search was temporarily suspended overnight. The operation resumed early Sunday morning, and the Coast Guard subsequently recovered the body from the water and transported it ashore.
Police investigators remained on the scene conducting further inquiries into the incident.
The Police Administration has extended sincere condolences to the family, relatives, and friends of the deceased, and has asked that their privacy be respected as the investigation continues.
