Bernard de Nully, President of the Antigua and Barbuda Trades and Labour Union, has publicly thanked supporters following a home invasion at his Paradise View residence that left his 81-year-old father hospitalised with serious injuries. According to Antigua.news, three young men broke into the property on Thursday afternoon, June 18, 2026, and assaulted the elder de Nully during the incident.

The victim, affectionately known as Yves, sustained fractured bones and internal swelling as a result of the assault and remains hospitalised while receiving treatment for his injuries.

In a public statement, de Nully expressed gratitude for the outpouring of concern from members of the public. "I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge how the Almighty Father is always in control, even in the face of adversity," he said.

He also directed thanks to all who contacted him in the aftermath of the incident. "To the many persons who have reached out to me in support, solidarity and guidance to keep a positive mindset, and who have wished my father a full recovery and continued good health, I say thank you, much appreciated," de Nully said.
