Two horses have gone missing from a Big Creek farm after intruders cut through a fence and entered the property overnight, according to Antigua News Room. The farm's owner is now appealing to the public for help in locating the animals.
Farm owner Chantelle Winter said she discovered the breach when she found a section of fencing had been cut, allowing the intruders access to the property. In addition to the two stolen horses, Winter reported finding a trap left on the farm.
The theft has raised serious concerns for the animals' welfare. Winter noted that horses previously stolen from her farm were later recovered bearing injuries, signs of abuse, and permanent scarring — a history that deepens fears for the missing animals' condition.
The two horses are described as follows: a red chestnut male gelding standing approximately 16 hands high, and a chestnut female with a blonde mane and tail standing approximately 14 hands high.
Winter is urging residents, farmers, and members of the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings or information that could assist in locating the horses.
Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact Chantelle Winter directly at 268-720-1171 or to report to the nearest police station.
