St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda — Officers from the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda's Narcotics Department and Customs Enforcement personnel have seized 34 pounds of cannabis during a joint drug operation at V.C. Bird International Airport.

The operation was carried out at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, at the LIAT Cargo Shed. During the search, officers examined a brown cardboard box and discovered thirty-four vacuum-sealed packages containing a bushy substance resembling cannabis.

The packages were seized and transported, along with the box, to Police Headquarters for further examination. The substance carries an estimated street value of EC$204,000. Investigations remain ongoing.

The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda reaffirmed its commitment to working alongside local, regional, and international partners to combat drug trafficking and other transnational crimes.
