KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent and the Grenadines — Prime Minister Dr. Godwin Friday will travel to Antigua and Barbuda this weekend to attend the 78th Meeting of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Authority, scheduled for June 21–22, 2026. According to Antigua News Room, the meeting will bring together Heads of Government and leaders from across the OECS to discuss key regional priorities, including economic development, regional integration, climate resilience, security, and cooperation among Member States.

The meeting will also mark a significant transition in regional leadership. Prime Minister Friday will formally hand over the Chairmanship of the OECS Authority to Antigua and Barbuda's Prime Minister, Hon. Gaston Browne, in accordance with the Organisation's rotational leadership arrangement.

Prime Minister Friday will be accompanied by a delegation that includes Protection Officer Corporal Desrick Quashie, Ambassador Allan Alexander, Senior Advisor Randy Cato, and Senior Advisor and Ambassador Kevin Hope.

During the Prime Minister's absence, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, Disaster Management and Immigration, Hon. Major St. Clair Leacock, will serve as acting Prime Minister.

The Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the interests of Vincentians through active engagement in regional and international partnerships, and stated it will continue working closely with OECS Member States to address shared challenges and pursue opportunities for sustainable growth and development.
