Police are investigating two separate thefts of construction and agricultural equipment reported in the Bolans area over the weekend, according to Antigua News Room.
In the first incident, a Bosch jackhammer valued at approximately US$2,000 was reported missing from a storage container at the Chapa Housing Project. The tool is believed to have been taken sometime between Friday afternoon and Monday morning. Investigators noted no evidence of forced entry at the storage container.
Officers have since interviewed several individuals and gathered information in connection with the case, though the jackhammer has not yet been recovered.
In a separate incident, thieves broke into the Agriculture Station at Green Castle and made off with four weed wackers and a mist blower. The break-in is believed to have taken place between Saturday and Monday morning.
As reported by Antigua News Room, the suspects forced open two locks to gain access to the facility and damaged a window before leaving the premises. The total value of the stolen items from the Agriculture Station has not yet been determined.
Police have confirmed that investigations into both matters are ongoing.
