Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle and Barbuda Member of Parliament Trevor Walker were officially sworn in as members of the House of Representatives during Tuesday's sitting of Parliament, according to Antigua.news.
Both parliamentarians took the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Office before the commencement of proceedings, formally assuming their seats in the legislature.
Pringle and Walker had been absent from the official swearing-in ceremony held following the April 30 General Election, during which all other elected members were sworn in and Parliament was formally constituted. Tuesday's ceremony completes the swearing-in process for the full complement of elected members of the House.
Pringle secured the St. Mary's East seat for the opposition, while Walker retained his Barbuda seat, continuing his representation of the sister island in the national legislature.
The House of Representatives proceeded with its scheduled business following the administration of the oaths.
