Prime Minister Gaston Browne has confirmed that the government has not yet accessed any funds from a $100 million loan facility set aside for the National Road Project, according to Antigua News Room.
Browne made the disclosure in Parliament this week while responding to a question on the status of the project's financing. He indicated that although no funds have been received, the government expects to begin drawing on the facility shortly.
"We have not received any proceeds from the loan as yet. It remains undrawn, but we hope to commence accessing the facility from later this month," the Prime Minister said.
The loan is intended to finance the National Road Project, a major infrastructure initiative designed to upgrade and improve the country's road network.
