The co-owner of a Barbuda restaurant and bar says she is growing increasingly frustrated following six break-ins at her establishment in less than two months, with what she describes as little progress from authorities in resolving the incidents.
According to Antigua Observer, Idrissa Hill of The Sage Table Barbuda reports that the business has been repeatedly targeted since mid-April, with thieves striking on multiple occasions in a short span of time.
Hill's account paints a troubling picture for small business owners in Barbuda, where resources and law enforcement capacity can present unique challenges. The frequency of the incidents — averaging roughly one break-in every ten days — has left the co-owner questioning whether adequate measures are being taken to protect local businesses and hold perpetrators accountable.
As reported by Antigua Observer, Hill has described the situation as one of mounting frustration, not only because of the repeated material losses sustained by the business, but also due to what she perceives as a lack of meaningful progress in the investigations.
