The High Court has commenced the murder trial of Jahciba Shoy, the second man to face charges in connection with the fatal shooting of Syrian national Roudi Shmaly. According to Antigua.news, Shoy is charged with both murder and aggravated robbery.
The charges stem from a deadly incident at the Pick 'n Mix Mart on Desouza Road in May 2023, during which Shmaly was shot and killed.
Shoy has remained on remand since his arrest. He is being represented in court by attorney Wendel Alexander.
Further details are expected to emerge as the trial proceeds.
