A coalition of local and regional health organisations has launched a public awareness campaign aimed at protecting children from unhealthy food marketing in Antigua and Barbuda.
According to Antigua Observer, Hope for the Future in Antigua and Barbuda spearheaded the initiative in collaboration with the Healthy Caribbean Coalition, Healthy Caribbean Youth, the Antigua and Barbuda Diabetes Association, the Antigua and Barbuda Heart and Stroke Foundation, Scrub Life Cares, and other local and regional partners.
The groups hosted a public engagement activity as part of the Make it Make Sense campaign, which seeks to raise awareness about the impact of aggressive and often misleading food marketing directed at young people.
The campaign brings together a broad network of civil society organisations united by a shared concern over the health consequences of unhealthy dietary habits among children in the Caribbean region.
