Health Minister Michael Joseph recently received Her Excellency Jiang Wei, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Antigua and Barbuda, for a courtesy visit at the Ministry's headquarters. According to Antigua News Room, the meeting centred on advancing cooperation between the two nations across several key sectors.
Minister Joseph and Ambassador Jiang Wei engaged in discussions covering healthcare development, wellness initiatives, environmental sustainability, capacity building, and broader opportunities for continued collaboration between Antigua and Barbuda and China.
Minister Joseph expressed appreciation for the longstanding partnership between the two countries, acknowledging China's contributions to Antigua and Barbuda's development in healthcare, infrastructure, education, and technical assistance.
"The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to identify key areas of mutual interest and potential pathways for cooperation that will further support the expansion and enhancement of healthcare services in Antigua and Barbuda," Minister Joseph stated.
He added: "China has been a valued partner in Antigua and Barbuda's development journey, and we look forward to strengthening this relationship as we work towards improving the health and well-being of our people."
