The Labour Department will host a free Health and Wellness Fair on Friday, June 12, bringing together multiple government agencies and service providers to offer screenings, information and support services to the public.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thames Street and is open to residents of all ages.

Attendees will have access to free health screenings provided by the Ministry of Health and Medical Benefits. Representatives from the AIDS Secretariat will also be present to offer HIV/AIDS testing and counseling services.

Several other agencies will participate throughout the day. SPARC — Substance Prevention, Advocacy, Resources and Counseling — will provide information on substance abuse prevention and treatment. The Human Trafficking Task Force will conduct awareness and prevention outreach, while the Antigua and Barbuda Social Security Board will offer guidance on benefits and available resources.

Officers from the Immigration and Labour Department will also be on hand to assist members of the public with labour matters and immigration-related queries.

Organisers say the fair is designed to promote healthier lifestyles, raise public awareness of available social services and connect residents directly with agencies that provide support and assistance.

Admission is free, and the public is encouraged to make use of the screenings, consultations and educational resources on offer throughout the day.
