Police are searching for the driver of a white Suzuki Jeep bearing registration number A35386 after the vehicle allegedly struck a woman on Josephs Lane on Sunday evening and fled the scene.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. Witnesses say the driver briefly stopped following the collision before driving away without rendering any assistance to the injured woman.

The victim subsequently reported the matter to the Grays Farm Police Station. She alleges, however, that despite being told officers would respond to the scene, no police personnel arrived.

The woman has also raised concerns about her treatment at the station. She described the attending officer as dismissive and said he spoke to her in a harsh manner. When she requested the officer's identification number, she claims he refused to provide it.

Information circulating in the community suggests the vehicle is registered to a resident of Federation Road, Grays Farm. Anyone who knows the registered owner is being urged to encourage him to contact the Traffic Department at Police Headquarters.

The incident has prompted concern among residents on two fronts — the alleged failure of the driver to remain at the scene, and the reported lack of police response to the victim's call for assistance.

Authorities are appealing directly to the driver to come forward and cooperate with the investigation. Anyone with information that could assist investigators is asked to contact police. No official statement has been released, and investigations remain ongoing.
