Four men charged in connection with a major cannabis seizure near Pares Village were each granted $500,000 bail when they appeared before Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel on Monday, according to Antigua News Room.
Rodwell McCurdy, Vincent Isaac, Garry Creighton, and Javen Ryner face charges of possession of cannabis, drug trafficking, possession of cannabis plants, and cultivation of cannabis plants. The charges stem from a June 4 raid on an unlicensed plantation that yielded more than 1,200 pounds of cannabis and cannabis plants valued at over $3 million.
The chief magistrate imposed a $50,000 cash component as part of each bail arrangement, along with two sureties, reporting conditions, surrender of travel documents, and a travel ban. The court adjourned the matter to August 26 for committal proceedings.
