Residents of St. Mary's South are set to benefit from a major housing initiative, with the Government of Antigua and Barbuda and the People's Republic of China partnering to construct 50 new homes in Bolans.

The project forms part of the government's ongoing commitment to expanding access to affordable housing and improving the quality of life for citizens across the country.

Area MP Dwayne George says the development will give low- and middle-income families greater opportunities to become homeowners while addressing housing demand within the community. The initiative is also expected to stimulate economic activity through construction-related employment and increased investment in the area.

The new housing development represents a further step in the government's broader strategy to strengthen the nation's housing stock and build sustainable communities where families can thrive.

Beyond providing shelter, the homes are intended to offer long-term security and stability for residents, helping families build wealth and improve their overall standard of living.

George expressed gratitude to the People's Republic of China for its continued support and partnership in national development efforts, noting that the collaboration has contributed significantly to infrastructure and social development projects throughout Antigua and Barbuda.

The Bolans housing project is expected to deliver meaningful benefits to dozens of families while supporting the continued growth and development of St. Mary's South and surrounding communities.
