A man has been killed in the Mackpond area near All Saints following a brutal attack witnessed by multiple bystanders. According to Antigua.news, the victim has been identified as Sheldon Diaz of All Saints.
Diaz suffered multiple chop and stab wounds during the attack, which took place in full view of onlookers. Witnesses reported that he was assaulted with a cutlass and a knife before attempting to flee his attackers. He ran from the scene and sought refuge in a nearby yard, but the violence allegedly continued after he entered the property.
Multiple witnesses said they watched in horror as Diaz pleaded for his life. Others reportedly begged the attackers to stop. Some witnesses alleged that threats were made against anyone who attempted to intervene.
By the time the attack concluded, Diaz had sustained severe injuries, including extensive wounds to his head and hand. Emergency responders were called to the scene, but Diaz succumbed to his injuries.
Police have since taken a man and a woman into custody as the investigation continues. Authorities have not yet disclosed what prompted the confrontation or whether formal charges have been filed.
