Antiguan youth leader and development advocate Peetron Thomas has been appointed Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Coordinator for the Americas by Next Generation Global Connect (NGGC), a global youth-led nonprofit organisation. According to Antigua News Room, the appointment places Thomas in a regional leadership role spanning North America, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.
In his new capacity, Thomas will coordinate and support initiatives across the hemisphere that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. His responsibilities include fostering strategic partnerships, engaging youth leaders, promoting sustainable development initiatives, and strengthening regional collaboration to address key social, economic, and environmental challenges.
NGGC connects young leaders across Africa, the Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East through programs focused on climate action, quality education, innovation, leadership development, and sustainable community growth. The organisation provides a platform for youth to contribute meaningfully to global development efforts while advancing solutions to challenges affecting their communities.
Thomas' appointment reflects his demonstrated commitment to youth empowerment, community development, and social impact. Through the role, he will help expand NGGC's presence throughout the Americas and encourage greater youth participation in sustainable and inclusive development initiatives.
