The Medical Benefits Scheme (MBS) partnered with the Ministry of Health on Monday, June 1st, to launch an inaugural pop-up health market aimed at addressing the island's rising rates of chronic illness. According to Antigua Observer, the event was held at the Nevis Street car park and coincided with Caribbean Nutrition Day.

MBS Communications and Marketing Supervisor Delicia Bonny noted that the initiative was designed specifically to counter obesity and related chronic conditions that continue to affect a growing number of Antiguans and Barbudans.

The pop-up market format represents a community-facing approach to public health outreach, bringing health resources and information directly to residents in an accessible, open-air setting.
