Prime Minister Gaston Browne paid an early morning visit Sunday to the Indian naval training vessel INS Sudarshini, just hours before the ship departed St. John's Harbour following a five-day stop in Antigua and Barbuda.

According to Antigua.news, Browne met aboard the vessel with Captain Ravikanth Nandoori and senior officers. The INS Sudarshini had arrived in Antigua after spending 19 days at sea crossing the Atlantic Ocean.

The vessel departed Antigua and Barbuda bound for Norfolk, Virginia, before continuing on to New York as part of its international voyage.

The ship's five-day visit drew a series of high-level engagements, reflecting the growing diplomatic ties between the two nations. Governor General Sir Rodney Williams, Foreign Affairs Minister E.P. Chet Greene, and Brigadier Telbert Benjamin of the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force each paid courtesy calls to the officers and crew during the week.

The visit served as an opportunity for both cultural exchange and diplomatic engagement, underscoring the longstanding friendship between Antigua and Barbuda and India.
