Police are investigating the sudden death of a 56-year-old Cooks Hill resident whose body was discovered outside his home on Friday evening. According to Antigua.news, the deceased has been identified as Dion Francis.

The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda reported that officers were dispatched to the residence after receiving information raising concern for the man's welfare. Upon arrival, officers detected a foul odor emanating from the property, prompting a search of the premises.

During the search, Francis was found lying motionless in the northwestern section of the yard. Police noted the body was in the early stages of decomposition.

Initial observations at the scene revealed no visible signs of violence. Investigators have stated there is currently no evidence to suggest foul play.

Authorities said Francis was last seen alive on Tuesday, May 26. A medical doctor subsequently visited the scene and officially pronounced him dead at approximately 8:46 p.m. on Friday.

The cause of death has not yet been determined, and investigations remain ongoing as officers continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the discovery.

The Royal Police Force extended its condolences to the family and friends of Francis and asked the public to respect their privacy during the grieving period.
