The Caribbean's primary crime and security agency is set to celebrate two decades of operation on July 6th — a milestone that arrives, according to its own leadership, at a time of unprecedented strain on the region's borders.

According to Antigua Observer, the confirmation was made by Earl Harris, Assistant Director of Corporate Services at CARICOM IMPACS, during the 29th CARICOM Standing Committee of Security meeting. Harris acknowledged that the anniversary comes at a critical juncture for regional security.

CARICOM IMPACS, which serves as the foremost body coordinating crime and security efforts across Caribbean member states, has operated for 20 years navigating the evolving threats facing the region. As reported by Antigua Observer, Harris's remarks underscored the growing complexity of those threats as the agency prepares to mark the significant occasion next month.
