Police are appealing to the public for information following a violent armed home invasion in the Green Hill area of Liberta that left an elderly couple injured in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

According to Antigua.news, officers responded to reports of a robbery at approximately 2:00 a.m. on May 26 at the residence of a 68-year-old man and his 69-year-old wife.

Preliminary investigations revealed that two masked men forced their way into the home and physically assaulted the couple while demanding money. The male victim was beaten about the body, while his wife sustained multiple injuries, including a gunshot wound to her right leg.

Both victims were transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre for treatment. Police confirmed that their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Authorities described the suspects as slim-built individuals wearing dark face coverings.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed or heard suspicious activity in the Green Hill, Liberta area around the time of the incident to come forward.
