The Ministry of Health has confirmed two cases of malaria in Antigua and Barbuda, marking a significant public health development for the twin-island nation.
Maurice Merchant, Director of Communications in the Office of the Prime Minister, disclosed the information during a post-Cabinet press briefing. "Two cases of malaria have been confirmed; the Ministry will give an update," Merchant stated.
The mosquito-borne disease, while common in many parts of the world, is not endemic to Antigua and Barbuda. The Ministry of Health is expected to release further details as the situation develops.
