The Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) has temporarily shuttered two voter registration offices for the remainder of the day after both locations lost access to running water, according to Antigua.news.

The affected facilities are the Central Registration Unit, housed in the former Peace Corps Building opposite the John E. St. Luce Financial Centre, and the St. John's Rural East Registration Unit, located opposite the Lion's Den.

The closures affect constituents in four constituencies: St. Peter, St. John's City East, St. John's City South, and St. John's Rural East.

ABEC stated that the absence of running water at both sites made it impossible to continue normal operations, prompting the decision to close for the day. The Commission said services will resume once the water supply is fully restored.

ABEC has issued an apology to members of the public affected by the disruption.
