Law enforcement officers seized a firearm, ammunition and multiple quantities of cannabis following a series of early morning raids in the Red Hill community on Monday, according to Antigua.news.
The coordinated operation, launched at approximately 4:33 a.m., deployed officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Task Force, the Gang and Guns Suppression Unit, the Special Services Unit and the K-9 Unit. Teams executed multiple search warrants across several properties in the area.
During one of the searches, officers recovered a firearm, two magazines, several rounds of ammunition and a quantity of cannabis. One man was taken into custody on suspicion of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and unlawful possession of cannabis.
At a second Red Hill property, officers discovered additional quantities of cannabis. Two further individuals were arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of cannabis.
A search of a vehicle in the area also yielded a quantity of cannabis.
All seized items and the three suspects were transported to a police station as investigations continue.
Authorities described the operation as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt illegal firearms, drugs and criminal activity across communities in Antigua and Barbuda.
