Police are investigating two separate robbery incidents in Hatton and Bendals and are appealing to the public for help identifying the suspects involved, according to Antigua.news.
The first incident took place in Hatton at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Friday, when officers from the Gray's Farm Police Station responded to reports of an armed robbery at a residential property. Two masked men allegedly forced their way into the home, assaulted both occupants with a firearm, and fled with several personal items.
Items reported stolen include a gold chain, two cellular phones, a wallet containing identification documents and bank cards, EC$245 in cash, and a red Honda weed-wacker.
Investigators described the first suspect as slimly built, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, brown in complexion, and dressed in khaki three-quarter pants and a white vest. The second suspect was described as approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, dark in complexion, and wearing a dark-coloured shirt and blue three-quarter jeans pants. Both men fled on foot before police arrived on the scene.
In a separate incident reported to the Bolans Police Station, a 63-year-old woman from Bendals told police she was robbed at her home at around 4:50 a.m. the same day. Two men dressed in dark clothing allegedly entered her property, snatched her jewellery, and escaped on foot. The suspects in that incident were described as medium built and approximately 5 feet tall.
The incidents have raised concerns among residents in both communities as police continue efforts to track down those responsible.
