Nearly a decade after her son disappeared without a trace in Antigua, a grieving mother continues to hold out hope that he may one day come home.

Roman Mussabekov vanished on May 15, 2017, while visiting the island. According to Antigua.news, his family has never stopped searching for answers in the nine years since his disappearance.

"My son, Roman Mussabekov, has been missing for nine years as of today. Not a single day passes without thinking of him. Our family is still searching and still hoping," his mother said in an emotional appeal marking the anniversary of his disappearance.

Mussabekov was 29 years old when he was last seen. Relatives say he checked into the Ocean Point Hotel on May 14, 2017. The following day, he reportedly took a taxi to the Yacht Club Marina in English Harbour and was never seen again.

The circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unclear. Over the years, his family has continued to appeal to the public, hoping that someone will come forward with information.

Now 38 years old, Mussabekov is described as approximately 1.78 metres tall, with brown hair, blue eyes and glasses. Family members say he spoke advanced English and was known to be friendly and approachable.

His mother remains convinced that someone, somewhere, may still hold a critical piece of information.

"Even after nine years, someone may remember something. Someone may know the truth, whatever it may be. We continue to hope that he is still alive," she said.

The family is urging anyone who recalls seeing Mussabekov or remembers details connected to his movements in Antigua during May 2017 to come forward, stressing that no piece of information is too small to matter.
