By now, the pattern is familiar. Sadly, so is the ending. The question is no longer whether this is prediction, but whether Antiguans have simply grown too accustomed to this painful cycle.
According to Antigua.news, on March 26, 2026, shockwaves tore through the Villa community when 17-year-old Omari Lewis and 18-year-old Brianna Clarke were gunned down in broad daylight on Hanns Street. Police have since confirmed the arrest of two individuals, aged 19 and 24. Yet the public remains largely in the dark. No charges have been announced, no meaningful updates provided, and once again, grieving families are left waiting for answers.
Let us look back at how we arrived here.
On June 28, 2024, the lifeless body of 16-year-old Yenifer Berenice Aquino Bridge was discovered along Fig Tree Drive. Hours later, her one-year-old son was found wandering alone on Jonas Road — a detail that continues to haunt many. How did a toddler travel that far unnoticed along such a busy roadway? Are we becoming a country defined by teenage killings? Or worse, a country defined by injustice?
The families deserve clarity. The victims deserve justice. The nation deserves answers.
