Cuba's Minister of Foreign Relations, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, has issued a formal statement responding to what he described as a historic but ambiguous offer of aid from the United States government.

According to Antigua Observer, the U.S. government has, for the first time, publicly formalized through a Department of State communiqué an offer of aid to Cuba valued at 100 million dollars. However, significant questions remain unanswered surrounding the offer.

The Cuban foreign minister noted that it remains unclear whether the aid would be delivered in cash or in material form, and whether it would be directed toward the Cuban people's most urgent needs at this time.
